Dating Do`s & Don`ts

The Do`s are tips to help you make a good impression when dating men and the Don`ts are things you should definitely avoid when you want to impress men.  It is always important to start out a date on the right foot and by avoiding the don`ts hopefully the date will have a happy ending.

The Do`s

1. Be on time for the date - Men do not like women who are always late.  Make a good impression by arriving on time or even a few minutes early to check out the situation.  If you are running late call your date on his cel phone, men really appreciate the heads up.  If you are too late and do not call, men may leave because they think you are standing them up.

2. Be positive and confident - Men enjoy spending time with women who have positive energy.  Do not be negative or talk about how bad thing are on a date.  Men like women who are confident in themselves and do not like women who are negative and bring them down. 

3. Be relaxed and laid back - Men like women who make them feel comfortable and at ease.  Go with the flow and do not act nervous or uptight.  Men are attracted to women who make them feel good and allow them to relax and be themselves. 

4. Have a sense of humor - Make sure you laugh when men tell jokes.  It will bruise their ego if you do not think they are funny so make sure you laugh even if the joke is not that great.  Also, men like women who are funny so don`t be afraid to show your humorous side.

5. Act interested in what you date has to say - Listening, nodding and making eye contact will let men know you are interested in what they have to say.  Men like feeling important so being interested in what they are talking about is important to them.  You can also ask questions about the topic to show you are really interested.

6. Be true to yourself - Men do not like women who try to act like someone they are not just to impress them.  Men can tell if you are pretending to be someone you are not and will be able to see through you.  Relax and just be yourself on the date.

7. Be safe - Use your head when going on a date with men you do not know very well.  Meet in a public place for a date and always tell a friend or family member where you are going and who you are going with.  If something seems odd or not quite right use your instincts and leave or get help.  Always be safe,smart and alert when dating men you do not know very well.  


The Don`ts

1. Be late for the date - Always be on time for dates.  Men do not appreciate it when women are late and it can come off as being rude.  Be courteous to men by being on time and if you are running late make sure you call them to let them know. 

2. Be negative and unsure - Men do not like women who are always negative about life, their job, friends, family, etc.  Being positive and confident appeals to men and makes them look forward to spending more time with you.  Always focus on the good things about yourself.
 

3. Talk too much about yourself - Make sure you ask questions about your date.  Men do not like women who always dominate a conversation.  Make it a point to get men involved in the conversation and ask them questions about their interests.

4. Ask about personal issues too soon - Men do not like women who pry and are nosey.  Do not get too personal too soon becasue this can scare men off.  If men willingly share this information then it is okay to discuss it.

5. Discuss marriage or having children too soon- These topics can scare men off.  Men do not want to discuss marriage or children when they initially meet someone.  These topics should be discussed as the relationship evolves. 

6. Be too aggressive physically - A lot of men do not like women who come on too strong.  Get to know men before becoming intimate with them.  Some men prefer to take the lead regarding a first kiss or physical contact.  As a rule, take things slow and let the relationship take it`s course  naturally.
